A new high-speed railway line will connect Moscow and Saint Petersburg.

The railway will be constructed by 2030, the terminal stations will be in Moscow and Saint Petersburg city centers. The trains will have several types of carriages that will effect the ticket prices. The project is compared to the Shinkansen, a so-called "bullet train" in Japan, that connects the major cities of the islands and travels at the maximum speed of 320 km/h (200 mph).
The passenger traffic is estimated to significantly grow in 10 years. Right now there are several ways to travel between the cities in comfort, the fastest of which is by Sapsan. In this high speed train you will reach your destination in 3.5 hours.
