St. Petersburg is going to enter the bidding process to host Hockey World Cup 2024.

Russian authorities are going to nominate St. Petersburg as a candidate for holding the 50th edition of the championship. The construction of a new stadium is in the planning stages and the infrastructure is improving. The city already has an experience of hosting the Hockey World Cup in 2000 and it shared that privilege with Moscow in 2016. Currently there are three countries in the bidding process - Finland (Helsinki/Turku), Switzerland (Bern/Zurich) and United States (Philadelphia/St. Paul).
