St. Petersburg will offer free Wi-Fi in the city center and Krestovsky island by summer 2017, and all the metro stations by FIFA 2018.

St. Petersburg is planning to construct free Wi-Fi access points in all the crowded areas - in the major sights, parks, metro stations etc. - by FIFA 2018. Earlier this year some of the city's community transport already offered free internet to their passengers, including the bus from Moskovskaya metro station to Pulkovo airport. This project is still in the works but in summer 2017 all the St. Petersburg city center and Krestovsky island, the amusement park, will be covered with Wi-Fi hotspots. By FIFA 2018 all the metro passengers will also be able to use internet for free.
