Free Entrance to Russian Museums
The entrance to the the State Russian Museum, the Menshikovskiy Palace in St. Petersburg and the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts in Moscow and other 15 museums in Russia will be free of charge for 1,5 months.
The Russian state bank, Sberbank, grants all the guests free entrance to 18 museums in 17 cities of Russia to celebrate its 175 year anniversary. The museums comprise the most prominent collections of Russian fine art housed in magnificent palaces of 18 and 19 centuries.
The State Russian Museum - free of charge entrance every Thursday till the 24th of November.
The Menshikovskiy Palace - free of charge entrance every day till the 30th of November.
The Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts - free of charge entrance every day till the 30th of October.
In Saint Petersburg almost all the branches and complexes of the sate Russian museum are included in the "free" list: the Stroganov Palace, the Mikhailovskiy Palace, the Marble Palace. One of the most famous exhibition is in Benois Wing - "Wassily Kandinsky and Russia". The oeuvre of world-renown Russian artist will be for the first time presented with special emphasis made on the national origins of his early figurative works and abstract paintings of 1910-s. The exhibition dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the artist will comprise his graphic and painterly works alongside with the pieces by his prominent contemporaries. On Thursday the museum will be opened from 1 p.m. till 9 p.m.
Museums is many other cities will be opened free of charge - Astrakhan, Vladivostok, Voronezh, Yekaterinburg, Irkutsk, Kazan, Kemerovo, Krasnodar, Krasnoyarsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Perm, Rostov-on-Don, Tyumen and Yaroslavl.
