Moscow Attractions Go Green
Moscow's first solar-powered Ferris wheel will be built in the theme park "Skazka" in Krylatskoye.
One of the most ecofreindly attractions in Moscow will open for visitors this August and starting next summer it will operate on solar energy. During cold seasons the wheel will still be powered by electricity and thus work the year round. The construction of the wheel was also made to avoid any deep excavations and it does not have a deep foundation that can cause harm to the soil or subsoil waters.
The 35-meter-tall attraction will have a wonderful view of Grebnoy Canal, Serebryany Bor and the Zhivopisny Bridge. It will offer 18 closed six-seat cars with characters of popular Russian fairytale painted on them. The Skazka theme park is built on the territory of Moskvoretsky nature reserve and it meets both international and European safety and green standards. It boasts an open-air geological museum, Husky Zoo Land, where everyone can go for a dog ride, a summer movie theatre and a two-storey ?fairytale castle? for family quests.
