The Largest Ice Palace in Russia Opened in Moscow
The best news for hockey fans - Moscow now boasts the largest arena in Russia - VTB Ice Palace with the first Hockey Museum and Hall of Fame in the country.
The palace is a part of the reconstruction of the ZiL industrial area - a birthplace of luxury cars driven by Soviet and Russian leaders. The complex Park of Legends will include sport facilities, offices, industrial units and apartment complex with amenity infrastructure and reside on the area several times larger than the famous business district Moskva City.
VTB Ice Palace with a total area of 69,000 square meters features three arenas the largest of which have over 12 000 seats. The arenas are multipurpose and can be easily transformed into venues for basketball, boxing and tennis matches. Besides usual bleachers, the spectators will be able to choose one of the 80 comfortable VIP boxes. The palace has the very first Russian hockey museum and Hall of Fame. Also sports complex has a unique synchronous swimming center with several swimming pools, other training facilities and a SPA open for public use.
VTB Ice Palace is the home stadium for the Kontinental Hockey League ice hockey team Dynamo Moscow, and the VTB United League basketball team CSKA Moscow for Euroleague games. In 2016, the arena will host games of the 2016 IIHF World Championship.
