Sapsan in Guinness World Records
Sapsan set a Guinness World Record for the longest high-speed train in the world.
The Moscow-St. Petersburg route is very popular in Russia, so sometimes one should book tickets in several weeks before the departure. Three months ago, on the 1st of August, in order to increase the train’s capacity the new dual formation Sapsan was launched. Due to its construction 2 train formations can be operated from 1 control car. As a result the train comprises of 20 cars and measures 500 m and 78 cm becoming the longest high-speed train in the world.
